SCHOOLS & GROUPS
Hartlepool Borough Council’s Learn to Swim programme is
delivered by qualified Level 1 and Level 2 Swimming Instructors.
Instructors work towards the ASA’s School Swimming Charter providing
every child who chooses to swim with us the opportunity to fulfil their
swimming potential.
Supporting children to explore the world of Aquatics through creative
planning and differentiation means that children develop skills and
confidence to enjoy swimming as a sport, for fun or simply as a skill
which can save their life if the need every occurred.
Schools are required to ensure pupils are taught to swim confidently
over a distance of at least 25 metres, using a range of strokes effectively
and know how to safely rescue themselves if they get into difficulties.
We aim to ensure all children who swim with us are able to work towards
and achieve these outcomes where appropriate. We do this through
delivery of high quality provision.
This service is available from Mondays to Fridays, 9:00am to 3:00pm while a range of lesson structures are available utilising the Learner Pool and 20m Pool.
Costs vary depending on the requirement of the school and is available typically to Key Stages 1 and 2 however we can accommodate a range of groups and ages based on each individual enquiry.
Please contact us at 01429 523338 or email us at swimming.lessons@hartlepool.gov.uk to discuss your requirements and we will do our best to accommodate you.
